Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, a journalist from Rangpo Sikkim was awarded Jeewanram Mungi Devi Goenka Smriti Samman 2016 at Shillong, the
capital of Meghalaya amidst a three day log program named as Hindi Vikas
Sammelan organized by the Purvottar Hindi Academy. Among the presence of more
than 100 renowned poets, social workers, journalists etc,
participating in the program from more than 15 states, Dr. Akela Bhai, the
secretary of the academy in his address mentioned that Sanjay Agarwal of
Sikkim state has been awarded for his vision and working towards the development
and preservance of Indian culture and social development efforts in different
parts of the country. This year two personalities are awarded in the same
category, with the second personality being Mr. Sharad Chandra Bajpai of Kanpur.
A felicitation letter, memento, and shawl was presented to Mr. Agarwal of Rangpo
Sikkim by Mr Shankarlal Ji Goenaka, Trustee of the Jeewanram Mungi Devi Goenka
Charitable Trust and also the chief guest of the occasion. The program was also
blessed by special guest Mr Pawan Bawori, Trustee of the J N Bawori
Charitable Trust, President of the Poorvanchal Hindi Acadamy, Mr. Bimal Bajaj
and Dr. Hariwani, the Editor of monthly magazine Vaishya Pariwar.
